Fires in Paradise was inspired by the artist's experience of witnessing forest fires near her summer cottage in Bulgaria during periods of extreme summer heat. The painting transforms this deeply personal encounter into a powerful meditation on the changing relationship between nature and climate. Fiery reds, oranges and yellows move through the landscape like flames, set against vivid greens and flashes of blue.
